The Design Theory
1. Understand the design theory :
According to google design theory involver the fundamentals and principles of creating visual communication and all types of art. It deals with how we see and perceive visual information and separates ideas of style, taste, and trend from the universal principles of aesthetics that are common to every person.
The five design principles should be used in every design project you work on. Here is the article about them.
1. Priority
One of the main tasks in design is knowing which elements to prioritize over others. Start by asking yourself which is the main piece of information you've trying to communicate.
2.Constrast
Contrast allows you to draw attention to elements by playing them off of others. While contrast is most often used with color, it also applies to sizes, placement, and other design principles as well.
3. Balance & Alignment
You often hear designers talking about “Visual Weight”. This refers to how noticeable or attention-grabbing certain elements are. Design work is a balance when all the elements fit together smoothly.
4. Repetition
Visual art is a lot more poetic than most people think like poetry. The poet uses a rhythmic repetition to strengthen the most significant areas. other is color theory, color technical, Design thinking.
2. Learn Technique (Design Software) :
In 2020 there are lots of designing software that can be used for photo editing, vector graphics, Ads design, video editing, etc. Learn them and start practicing them. you can learn photoshop, illustrator, InDesign. You can learn them and start using them.
You can learn them from youtube. Youtube is a free platform to learn this software. also, you can take a course from online websites like udemy, Skillshare, etc, or learn them get a mentor who can teach you that. the best way to learn graphic design software is to use and explore them. After you learned them then start designing and learn other techniques that can improve your software abilities.
I have a tip for you, You can take a task for 30 days, in this task you have to learn only one technique in a day. After 30 days you become professional to use that software.
3. Learn from other Designers and read design blog/book.
Once you learn using the design software then you can start designing in them but first, you have to see other designers work so that you can get inspired by them.
There are many designers that are on social media platforms, follow them, and see their work, how they use to shape and line, color palette, font style, etc. You can ask them and learn from them, also you can make your account on their platform and get a review from other experienced designers.

4. Design fake project :
Once you learn from them you have to start a design project. This can be the scariest part, but the best way to learn design at this point is just starting doing it. So find a project and get going! It doesn’t have to be a paid project but it is better to stage in your design education. The important thing is that you just start working on something that helps you a lot.
Interested in visual design? Design a logo. Interaction? Prototype an app. Design things you will in six months be embarrassed to show your anyone else It’s OK, that’s part of the process! We’ve all been there. Start with the basic and go.
5. Practice Practice Practice :
After watching designs you have to start your own design. When I first started digging into design work, I have done much practice daily. Your first design is too horrible but doesn’t panic everyone passes from them. After some design, you will see the improvement in your work. But for that, you must start practice. “Practise makes Perfect”
Also, you can take a 30-day design challenge, I have done many challenges while learning design. It helps you to improve your work and every day you will learn new skills.
